'European Enhanced Terrain' in super high 3D resolution...
...with Flight Simulator, everyone can travel the world - get into an aeroplane and fly to places that many of us can only dream about.
Flying is a great way to visit Europe. From the green, rolling hills of Scotland to the coastal waters of Portugal, from the jagged fjords of Scandanavia to the white sandy beaches of France, from the ski slopes deep in the Alps to the winding river valleys of the Rhine and over to the Italian interior, you'll spendor at the European Continent.
By simply adding this 'European Enhanced Terrain' it transforms these places into "eye-popping", visual spectacles.
Based on Flight Simulator's adaptable elevated mesh terrain technology, it boosts the detail 16-fold for Europe. This add-on replaces the default elevation data with super refined 78 meter info. The result is an incredible scenic accuracy bringing the Flight Simulator experience even closer to reality.
For "flightseeing" pleasure you'll fly the pre-planned tours in the venerable Piper Super Cub. When you fly the Super Cub "low and slow", you'll see the enhanced terrain up-close.
How Enhanced Terrain Works...
Normally, the world elevation info for Flight Simulator is accurate to about 1200 metres. The 'European Enhanced Terrain' boosts the resolution to 78 meters, bringing you 16 Times the visual accuracy. You can see from the illustration below that much more detail is revealed when the elevation data points are closer together instead of 1200 metres apart. The result is that the earth is modeled even closer to reality and delivering an incredible visual flight.
